EZERA

Silence is our Fate

The nap that the unicorn was attempting to take was once again interrupted by the cold feeling of water running down her face. A sigh shuddered through her body and across the newly formed bond to the pup that stood over her. One golden eye opened to peer up at her new skull-faced companion. The Hellhound was soaked from the point of her ears to the tip of her tail. Ezera wasn't sure why the little thing wasn't terrified of the water, especially after what had happened not to long ago when she had found her. Here they were though, resting beside the stream that had become one of Arzaz's favorite places. Well, the mare was trying to rest but it didn't look like it was going to work. The pup had too much energy to do anything somewhat related to rest.
With a soft shake of her head the mute rid herself of the water. When she had gone to find the thing she hadn't expected it to be so young. To be fair she really hadn't known what she would find but the Hellhound pup had been a surprise. The thing was nothing like her snake had been. Where Voski had been quiet and barely noticeable Arzaz was always right where her hooves were about to go or chasing everything that moved. Ezera had almost stepped on her more than once. It was a good thing the pup was constantly moving otherwise she would have been crushed by now.
Arzaz let out an odd whistle that Ezera was beginning to recognize as a sound of excitement when the mare pushed herself to standing. The moment she started to step towards the stream the pup darted between her legs. In order to avoid doing any damage to the small creature she tried to redirect her step. It would have ended up working if Arzaz hadn't gotten scared and backed into her other legs. Instead of neatly just stepping to the other side the unicorn ended up in the stream. With a new playmate in the water and her fear immediately forgotten the pup jumped in as well, splashing the mare even more.
Being careful not to hit Arzaz she jumped back out of the water and shook it off. It was starting to become way too cold to be fully submerged in the stream. Golden eyes narrowed at the pup but the effort was a waste since she wasn't even paying attention, just chasing a fish as it darted around. Obviously the cold air didn't really bother the thing, at least not yet. After one more shake to make sure the majority of the water was gone Ezera glanced around. Despite being in Tryggr territory she knew better than to not keep an eye out. And with the Hellhound jumping around and making the whistles it would be hard to hear someone coming towards them.

I KNOW THERE'S BEEN STIGMA 'ROUND ME,
I KNOW YOU HEARD THINGS ABOUT ME ―
Andante was slowly beginning to accept the fact that he was always going to come across something he would never expect. A perfect example of this was the massive towering figure that trailed diligently in behind him. Silently the boy tossed a glance over his shoulder to stare up at the imposing hellhound that acted as his guardian. The creature looked like a thing of nightmares with billowing smoke and flames wafting from his ribs and topline. He found the slight resemblance odd and even a little frightening that the wolf like creature was adorned with the same chrome like features that decorated his own barrel and tail.

Even when he had stumbled upon the canine within the woods of herda's hillside it refrained from showing any form of aggression, despite him yelling at it. Instead the hellhound walked up to him and choose him, licking his face to signal the beginnings of a bond he still did not understand. His name is Naveed...young king. Your protector, your familiar. He could hear the forest say as they whispered words of wisdom to him. His silver brows pulled together momentarily, mulling the thought over before committing to speak to the giant creature that dwarfed him. Naveed. Is that your name?

The eldritch ears of the hellhound rotated forward at the sound of its own name. Vibrant eyes trailed across the young sovereign's face with a softness Andante had never known. There eyes locked for a moment until the sound of a splash drew both of their attention. Trotting forward his serpentine eyes skimmed the forest until it landed upon the familiar dark hide of Ezera. A sense of relief washed over him as he slowed to a stop with Naveed right on his heels. Ezera! Are you alright? He asked, watching the mute woman shake water from her obsidian fur. It was then that he caught the sight of the otherworldly puppy milling about. Were you attacked?!

EZERA

Silence is our Fate

Ezera turned towards Andante as he approached. It took her a moment to notice the large shadow right behind the boy king. If Arzaz hadn't become a part of her life she might have been a bit more concerned about the presence of the giant hellhound. Instead the mare just looked it over for a moment before returning her golden gaze to the boy. In order to save the little bit of magic she nodded to answer his first question and then shook her head for the second while following his gaze to the pup.
Arzaz was a bit of an annoyance but being annoying was not the same as attacking. She moved to the side so that the hellhound pup could be seen fully and pointed her muzzle at it. Arzaz The mute turned back to Andante with a look as if to say I have no idea what to do with it. Luckily all it had been doing was playing and following her around. Ezera had no idea what to do when it got hungry. It would be something that they'd have to figure out when that time came.
For now she just watched as the pup noticed the much larger beast. That was another thing that worried the unicorn. There was no telling just how big Arzaz would grow to be but judging by the size of the hellhound behind Andante it would be big. Of course there might be different types of them, or females might be smaller, but having never seen one before there was no way to tell. A sigh bounced around inside her skull while the pup bounded over to the boy's companion.
Without any regard to what the older hellhound might do the pup ran behind him and pounced on his tail, using a paw to smack one of the bone spikes. After a moment of this she became distracted by the shadows that seemed to surround him and started to chase one around. Ezera gave a defeated shake of her head and tried to call Arzaz back but either the pup didn't understand or was just too busy to listen. She gave Andante an apologetic look before moving to try and nudge her companion back to where she had been playing in the water.

I KNOW THERE'S BEEN STIGMA 'ROUND ME,
I KNOW YOU HEARD THINGS ABOUT ME ―
Rubine hooves carried the stag closer, eyeing the much smaller hellhound pup as she pranced about freely. With a new sense of calm washing over him he turned his visage to look upon Ezera, noting how relaxed the fem was. And it was at that moment that the ebony mare spoke a single word into the realm of his mind. Arzaz? He thought to himself, a light frown pulling at his features before realizing that this was the name of the young hound. Ahh...okay. He murmured with a single bob of his head, nodding with understanding now.

He looked the puppy over again as she flittered about, taking in the vast differences she and Naveed had between one another. For starters, the female had an exposed skull while his own hellhound held a normal wolfish appearance. Although it seemed Arzaz lacked the flames, billowing smoke and bony protrusions. Peeling his gaze away from the puppy he glance back at the dark unicorn with a questioning glance. Where did you find her? He asked with a slight tilt of his head, genuinely curious. But only because the young canine did not hold the scent of Tryggr upon her kohl pelt.

Meanwhile, Naveed's attention slipped from its dutiful watchful gaze on Andante and fell towards the younger hellhound below as she toddled off in behind him. Twisting his nape to glance behind he could see the puppy pawing at his tail in amusement only to quickly grow bored and bat at the smoke that wafted off of him instead. Lowering his head Naveed crouched a bit, sniffing at the much smaller canine, most of his nose taking up her side as he did so. Noticing Ezera coming near him the towering hound lifted his visage once more to its full height. Andante shook his head as if to dismiss the situation. Don't worry about it.

His voice was hushed and a bit hurried as he looked her over again. How have you been, you know...since the battle with the large bear god and Fenrir? Andante asked with a look of concern. He knew that Ezera managed to kill the dire wolf perusing her and that she was physically okay. But what about mentally?

Silence is our Fate

The mute abandoned her efforts to get Arzaz to go play with something else once she realized that there was no point. The pup would not be deterred from her attempt to catch the smoke. With a shake of her head Ezera turned back to Andante and contemplated how to answer his question. She hadn't been quite sure as to where the ravine had been or what it was called but she did know what direction. Without turning she nodded to the East while letting Ravine go through the connection.
It wasn't the most descriptive but she really didn't know of any other ravines. She didn't pass any on the way there and back anyway. Her eyes trailed over to watch the two hellhounds for a moment, making sure that the pup wasn't being too obnoxious. She wanted to compare it to having another kid to raise but really there was a huge difference in how the pup was acting vs. how Iracebeth was.
It was almost a welcome distraction when the boy asked another question until she realized what he was asking. A shiver traveled along her spine while the scene reappeared in her mind. It hadn't been nearly as bad as the first time but the claw marks on her front legs still ached a bit. Arzaz let out a softer whistle than before and bounded over to sit between the mare's hooves. Ezera blinked away the memory in order to return her attention to Andante. If she were to be honest the shadows still made her nervous and it sometimes seemed as though the wind carried the howl of wolves. Her thoughts were haunted by the dread of wondering what Fenrir was going to do next. But even if she wanted to say all of that she wouldn't.
Instead the unicorn lifted her lips in as much as a smile as she could manage with the thread and hoped that nothing showed in her eyes while she nodded to show that she had been alright. Worrying the boy king would accomplish nothing, especially when he had a whole kingdom to look over. Dark thoughts and demons in her mind was something Ezera had become accustomed to anyway. With another nod of her head an a inquisitive look she bounced the question back to Andante.
