Private Informal Strangers

#1
The Valley seemed to stretch much farther than he expected it to, far beyond the lake he'd arrive at. He'd since traversed the marshes, climbed the unforgiving mountains, and set out once more to see what else he could find around. Taking to his wings, his obsidian shape glided with ease without the intense wind to fight against him and thrust him about. He was growing slowly more accustomed to the harsh grip of winter that ensnared the land. Sure, he dreamed of the beached and warm, sunny weather, but he could be adaptable and exploring required such. No place was perfect, but sometimes the people were. Or at least someone was. It was strange to though, going out and exploring on his own rather than with his group, though were long since gone and that was of his own accord. Besides, others came to see them Not the other way around, but the lands here were strange and beings seemingly few and far between.

Kingdoms and territories were not a new concept by a long shot, but he was naively unaware of lands divide between houses as he'd only just learned that it was in fact divided, but where? Sighing, he pushed the thought from his head knowing that if he crossed a line, someone would surely tell him and if previous events were any indicator, chase him off with some animosity. With a single movement of his long wings, he ascended slightly, returning to his long glide as the terrain below flattened out and pooled with water, or more likely sheets of ice in this weather, but someone out in it all caught his attention. He couldn't make out much at this height, but it was the distinguishable shape of an equine like figure. Curiosity struck a cord in him and he suddenly started to sink in the sky as he approached, casting an overly large, bird like shadow over top the figure for a moment as he passed.

Throwing back his wings, he slowed down and hovered slightly with a few sweeps of his ebony and gold coated wings before finally reaching down in unfamiliar land. Turning on his heels, he looked back at just who he'd come across with interest. He tucked his wings away with some more pep than he'd shown since arriving in the valley. Everyone he met thus far had startled him on approach and left him frazzled and bit jumpy, but not this time!

For what is was worth, these 'Vromme' lands weren't as bad as they could have been.

The stag rather enjoyed the water and the marshy landscape. Partially due to the constant reminder of some of his favorite places to rest back in his homeland. Even with winter on the horizon, here it didn't seem as if it could be fully touched by such brutal harshness that was the cold. Kagami knew it would eventually come, as did all things like the seasons, but for now, he enjoyed the brisk air.

Though given no special title or rank among the herd here, the stag did take it upon himself to walk the borders when he had time to spare. Call it a habit if you will, but the priestess had been kind enough to lend him this place to stay the least he could do was ensure that nothing of danger crossed into these lands. And, it was during this walk along the border of Grosugar that a peculiar shadow was cast, followed by a creature Kagami had never seen before. Reaching with the telekinetic powers he possessed, the stag had his mind-woven hand upon the hilt of his sword ready to strike at the first sign of trouble. Standing still as stone, blue eyes watched this obsidian colored stranger land; and while he bore the resemblance to equine, the wings that protruded from all parts of this body confused the warrior. A glare creased his brow, the long pointed tail snapped in the shallow water.

"停止!あなたのビジネスを宣言する" He called out, drawing in a steady breath to ready himself for a fight if need be. The wound on his eye had begun to heal over, and while the air rarely stung it now the way his visage scrunched tore open the healing skin. This allowed a few pinpricks of blood to seep into the brown and white of his hide.

Having finally touched ground, he was able to make out the stranger's features far more clearly. Almost like a mental check list, he scanned and imprinted a rather impressive looking stallion in his mind. Sturdy, muscular build? Check. Gruff, rougeish charm? Also check. Focusing on his face for a moment, he noted the brooding expression paired with the long wound across his face that, to his surprise began to trickle a line of blood. It didn't quite appear fresh enough to warrant blood, but it's not like he had any knowledge on wounds, his own hide free of scars and kept in as pristine a condition as he could manage.. Sitting atop his crown, sprouted rather impressive antlers that appeared less like bone and more like branches of a tree with strange blue markings carved into them. Lirr's rich, gem like eyes followed the supple curve of the stranger's neck along his back as he noticed not only the vibrant orange scarf wrapped loosely around his torso, but the sharp blade held taught in it's hilt at his side. Snapping to the tail at the sound of something snapping at the water's surface he noticed the draconic like tail that ended with a point so characteristic of fairy tale dragons. However, he didn't linger there long, suddenly jumping back to the man's hind quarters that bore more of that wood like look. Almost like bark with similar rune like designs etched into the hard surface.

Lirr started to open his mouth to greet him with a rather cheesy pick up line but before he could even utter such a frivolous thing, the man spoke to him with a rather harsh, commanding tone, but hardly a word translated to him. He could not really speak any other languages, but had managed to pick up the occasional word here or there in a few different languages in his travels. Stop. That's the only part he understood, but the rest was nothing but angry gibberish in his ears. He'd intended to approach the stranger, but stopped in his tracks, one of his front feet hung in the air a moment before it slowly sunk back to the ground almost comically slow. "Stop and then what?" He asked, tilting his head as eyes of amethyst eyes met with the pale, sky like orbs that adorned the swordsman's face. There was such hostility behind those eyes that he didn't understand. Perhaps he'd crossed another border without realizing. He was quickly learning there where lines drawn in the metaphorical sand all over the valley that he seemed oblivious to.

He often forgets that these people don't speak the language of his home. For that, he inwardly curses and makes the mental note to speak in the common tongue. However, the glare on his visage doesn't change, and the mind's arm still wraps tightly around the hilt of his ornate sword. Draconian tail flicks in the water, spray hitting his hind legs with little care. "You have crossed into the lands of Grosugr. State your business."

His mind reeled at what this thing could be, for wings were something one only ever saw in the paintings of celestial beings. Never before had he come across an equine with any feature this divine, but alas, Kagami cannot linger on that thought. This stranger was not of his home, for he did not speak his tongue, and intruding on the land the Priestess owned.

Kagami wondered how many people often came through the southern river lands. He hadn't seen many, but surely there were other places outside this small space he'd been allowed to call 'home' for now. In fact, he recalls hearing the names of other...what had she called them? Houses? scattered in the regions of this large Valley. A stranger this winged man may be, but shouldn't he have had some clue as to where these boundaries lay? Regardless of his own thoughts, Kagami remains fixated on him. In a swift glance he takes note of possible weak points to strike should he need to--how fragile were those wings? Shame was just as good as a blade. What good was a creature with wings who could not fly?

But he refrains from any harsh or irrational behavior, waiting for the response of the stranger to determine his next action with precision.

"Another border? How many of these are there?" He asked, not seeking any real answers, he was sure to find them all eventually on his own time, not the borders really meant much to him anyway. "Ah, well, I was looking for some company." There was a curious look in his eyes as he approached a few steps, but kept a good tail length away from the stranger, unsure of how friendly or hostile he was. Perhaps his company was unwanted, but when has that ever stopped young Lirr from doing as he pleased. His thick cascade of noir curls bounced as he stepped, drawing his knees up a bit showy as he pranced forward. He didn't have wealth or a title to show off, he was little more than a vagabond, but he did have his looks and was always more than happy to show that off. It was a part of who he was and what he did as a dancer. Who would want to watch a show if the one performing wasn't anything to look at? It was a brutal truth, but he'd been blessed in that aspect.

Lirr's more unfortunate recent meetings had however granted him a sense a caution which would surely come in handy considering his lack of courage and/or ferocity. With his head pulled up almost as if posing, his own leonine tail decorated in a lush plum of curls itself hung over the water precariously, not wanting to ruin and then in turn have to fix that water logged mess of hair. "But what about you? Did you just claw your way up from the underworld?" There was a pause as he offered a bit of a cheeky smile, tilting his his head to the side before adding on with a gentle swish of his tail "Cause you sir, are hot as hell."
