Welcome to Slidr River Valley, home to the strong, the brave, and the resilient. Challenging the odds surmounting against them, the Houses of equine fight in a power struggle for ultimate control over the Valley. With the Bloodless fading away after the First Great Winter of Three, Fimbulvetr, the Slidr River Valley is in a state of discord as the Houses throw themselves into an arms race for power. From predators to the gods themselves every day ushers in a new obstacle to overcome. Fimbulvetr is a literate intermediate-advanced fantasy horse role-play with a survivalist concept. The environment is designed to work against your characters as they move forward in their journey through the arcana riddled realm of Slidr River Valley. With an immense history and lore, we encourage our members to create locals and "outsiders" alike.

Autumn Year 501 | The heat has broken, and the trees of the Valley begin their transition from emerald to citrine and rubine. The temperatures steadily drop as the progression of Autumn claims all of the Slidr River Valley and plunges it into the hallowed solstace. Snow already weightlessly falls from the sky on cold nights - especially to the North and West. The Laurel Alps and Frior Mountain Range begin the process of wrapping themselves in thick white blankets of snow, leaving the once purple snowcapped border of the continent a stark white crescendo on the horizon. To the East, the heat wave has finally broken. The staggering temperatures have fallen simply from the harsh miles of wind sweeping from the mountainous vales and into the bowl of the desert. Those huddling in the Frekr Oasis for salvation will find the nights frigid. Best light the plinth fires and stock up for the winter, for it is just around the corner.

♚ Years and years she had travelled. Years and years she had aimlessly wandered, no goal in mind. Years and years she had been alone. She had not spoken a word, she had lived off very little to eat and drink, and she had not had a place to call home in a very long time; in years and years. It had taken a large toll on her mind, body, and soul. She was detached, unknown, and a mystery to even herself. She was broken, worn, and torn to a thread that was barely holding on. For years and years she’d been free.

And now, as she barely stumbled across the ground, Éilís felt like a lost bird, tired and tattered yet aloof and bright. Knocking her hooves against rocks and dragging them along the grass, she lost her balance yet never fell. Her legs would constantly give on her but her side never touched the ground. Her wide wings were partially extended, the feathers at the tips turned up towards the sky. They looked bent and broken, though did her a great deed for keeping her upright, and she silently thanked them for their support.

As Éilís came into a great shadow, her beautiful, puffy eyes slowly rose to the sky, exposing bloodshot red beneath the white. These eyes rest upon the leaves of a great tree, shifting and rustling in the breeze high above her own dainty head. From these branches burst a flock of birds. They swirled in the air in a frenzy of beauty before flying away between two mountain cliffs and into the beyond… somewhere beyond. It seemed if Éilís wanted her adventure to continue, she would have to find a way around this tree.

Stumbling in the sudden wind, Éilís considered her options. If she had been in the prime of her health, she would have simply flown over the top of the tree. Yet, stirring her wings slightly, she felt as if bricks were weighing her down heavier than a mountain bearing upon her. Her bloodshot eyes scanned the terrain, before they rest upon an opening beneath the colossal roots of this tree. A cave system lay beneath the untrained eye.

Éilís instantly began to stumble into the cave, a slope quickly taking her down into the stony and cool tunnels. Without much light, dreariness set in upon her unlike anything she had ever felt before. She slumped against the side of the cave walls in desperate need of water, her breath heaving lightly through her chapped lips, her exposed ribs expanding and contracting as she breathed. She slowly laid upon the cold floor, nestling into herself and curling into a ball, her wings folding over her as her mane draped all around her on rocks and craines. Her lion-like tail curled around her and the fan that tipped the end frilled out and covered her face. She was much too tired to continue, and would rather spend the next day and night here, resting. She could think about her adventure later.

be swift!

Something is happening! Had such a worn traveller ever come to the Bifrost's shadows? Upon entering the lithe thing sacrificed curiosity and progression for rest. It'd seen her stumbling in approach, could feel the deep knot of exhaustion settling into her bones. A soft feathered dove, she curled like a foal next to its dam, seeking security under the veil of feathers adorning her tail. Anyone would have found pity for the thing...

Except that was not how the world worked beneath the mighty colossi. "Oh how pretty!" a voice whispered, falsetto and sing-song in characteristics. "Yes, yes, quite. Lookit the feathers!" Another answered, nearly identical but with enough of an alteration in quality that it was discernibly two strangers speaking to one another. If the lady were to peer from behind her veil, she'd see nothing in the darkened shadows deeper along the corridors.

That was, until a small glint came from the path behind here where she'd entered. It had manifested and disappeared so quickly perhaps one would question if it had been there at all. In it's wake silence... it lingered until the right of mind may dismiss the voices entirely. Crack! A pebble collides with the sod above her, clacking against another stone wedged within the loam and root wall. It topples down and lands on the maiden's crown, before spilling back to the ground. Now, why would someone do that?

Éilís has entered the Bifrost! Survive the trials ahead to enter the Slidr River Valley!

I know I'd rather be complacent

The Sildr river Valley. He always seemed to find himself right back in this spot. Maybe it was because it was one of the first lands he'd stumbled upon when first exiting the bifrost. Or maybe it had something to do with the charm of the vast lake. Regardless, he liked to frequent this area quite often when not attending to kingly duties. His dark red hooves carried him on no path specifically as he wandered the landscape, eyes squinted against the sun as he eyed the towering tree in the distance. It was the only place he knew where newcomers came from and for a moment he found himself oddly intrigued with how many new horses might come through the ancient bifrost daily.

As someone who had come through himself, he was no long intimidated by the massive plant. But he always kept his wits about him when near it. Silently he edged near the sloping roots to peer into the darkness. Perhaps this was becoming an unhealthy adventure for the young king but he placed one cloven hoof into the blackness and then another until total darkness overtook him. Nothing but the clicks of his hooves could be heard as he quietly moved his way through the woven tunnels.

At one point he thought he'd heard the sound of two separate voices and the young man paused for a moment to consider venturing in that direction. Audits perking and swiveling he stood taunt for a moment longer before making the decision to head that way. Beyond the usual musk of the bifrost he picked up on something foreign. So there is someone new... Failing to see the little blip of glinting light, Andante inched closer, rounding a bend until he spied an alabaster female with gaunt sides laying upon the ground. Frowning, he bolding took a few steps closer until he stood directly over her, watching her with a keen eye.

For a fleeting moment he thought her dead with how worn she looked. But then he noticed the slight rise and fall of her barrel. Had she merely given up on attempting to leave the depths of this place? Pursing his lips together he took a step back prior to speaking. Hey...do you need some help getting out of here? Andante asked whilst lowering his visage a notch, brow rising in unison.
