With the Bloodless fading away after the First Great Winter of Three, Fimbulvetr, the Slidr River Valley is in a state of discord as the Houses throw themselves into an arms race for power. From predators to the gods themselves every day ushers in a new obstacle to overcome. Fimbulvetr is a literate intermediate-advanced fantasy horse role-play with a survivalist concept. The environment is designed to work against your characters as they move forward in their journey through the arcana riddled realm of Slidr River Valley. With an immense history and lore, we encourage our members to create locals and "outsiders" alike.

✿ Spring Year One | After so, so long vibrant green begins to peak through the fertile mud washed in from the heights of the mountains. Buds are peaked through their baby leaves and the trees are blossoming with new emerald leaves. Fawns peek through the forests and fields and birdsong has returned to the Valley. The entirety of Slidr River Valley is open to it's people. With the rising temperatures and the increasing life, predators abound. Careful, travelers, for they lurk almost everywhere.

Forged by fire, large vein-like stripes wrap meticulously around his neck, shoulders, and legs. Overlaying a liver chestnut coat with select pangare, these stripes shimmer and glow, fading in and out in rhythm with his breathing as they change between hues of red, orange, and yellow. Touched by the god's, perfectly designed, molten wings extend out from his withers that are known to catch fire and grow into a complete pair of roaring, flame wings at his command via arcana.

Burnt sunset tresses catch fire and cascade down his neck, tumbling towards the ground where they lightly caress the terrain below. His forelock, which falls carelessly into his face, is combed to lay over his right eye, and at the base of his neck, a leather collar is worn, dividing his mane at length - this section of his mane is usually kept shaved. His tail, the same vibrant color as his mane, flows out behind him; a river of red.

A dark, slender visage of severe lines and birdcatching, hold Archelaus' eyes, a harsh, brilliant gold, like the color of imperial topaz. He is wide spread with a muscular chest and long legs that carry bicolored hooves.

In his younger years, Archelaus was hard to control and even harder to contain. High-spirited, his brother, Oromis, would struggle to keep a firm disciplinary grip on the yearling as he often disregarded his caretaker’s wishes for a more adventurous path. Although he still carries the same inquisitive mind that he held as a colt, he no longer jumps at the first opportunity for parading off on some wild escapade that would naturally breed trouble.

A stark contrast to his formal disposition, he is dark and brooding, the death of Oromis having tempered much of his soulfulness. For obvious reasons, he keeps his distance from society, subconsciously protecting himself from the pain he suffered when his brother died. Of course, he still enjoys conversation with people he’s most comfortable with as he does get lonely from time to time, but he’ll always avoid larger crowds when possible and dismiss himself when the topic of conversation becomes too personal.

Usually a silent face in the crowd, Archelaus will make his voice known should he feel passionately enough to offer his opinion. However uncommon, he can become temperamental at times of high stress. Known to deal with his emotions in an outward display, it would be wise to give him a wide berth when fire begins to cloud his vision as this could prove harmful should he ever lose control of his arcana.

Pyrokinesis :: The creation, shaping and manipulation of fire.
Heat radiates from his body as flames lick hungrily beneath the vein-like stripes on his neck and shoulders and haunches. When conjured, wings of pure fire extend from the identical markings at his withers, arching over his back. Erupting in a combustion, these faux wings, although beautiful, can prove harmful to others.

Apprentice :: Discovering his abilities later in life, Archelaus struggles with control. He can manipulate an existing flame easily but finds creating his own to be a task. An intended small flare of fire may engulf him or his surroundings rather than eat at the intended area. He suffers from a decrease in oxygen which sometimes leads to the loss of consciousness should he ever overextend.

Adept :: At this level, Archelaus no longer loses consciousness, but his breathing will still become shallow as his energy depletes. He can create and maintain his own flames for a prolonged period of time, but his control still wavers from time to time. He’s also taught himself a more artistic way of fire manipulation rather than using it to promote violence or stimulate decay.

Master :: A true master of his craft, Archelaus is no longer bound by restrictions. Fire burns in his mane and tail and the ground is left branded by his heavy footfalls that burn with the heat of his element.

Virtuoso :: Smoke billows from him, creating an impenetrable fortress that repels and infects the lungs of those who might dare draw near. The natural heat that radiates from his body can be manipulated or amplified to create temperatures upwards of 150 degrees Fahrenheit. His element allows him to both ignite and extinguish great walls of arching flames. Archelaus has become the Firebrand.


Passive Abilities :: A wealth of heat is produced by his body that can be uncomfortable to other equines. He is naturally immune to fire.
